An introduction to glueboard technology.

Glueboards are increasingly being used in light traps to effectively catch insects.
These boards have an adhesive with very special properties, specially designed to grip and hold very light objects. And all this in very demanding conditions.
The insects should stick to the surface after applying very light pressure. The common scientific name for this type of adhesive is “pressure sensitive adhesives” (PSA adhesives). The use of glueboards compared to light traps with a high voltage grid.
In recent years, this high-voltage grid has come under increasing pressure due to a number of shortcomings. These differences between an glueboard and a high voltage grid are listed in the table below:

There is still little or no awareness of the fact that UV-A light diminishes over time and as a result lamps are not replaced or are replaced too late. The maintenance interval for a UV-A Lamp is 1 year. After 1 year, the UV light of your lamp is reduced by 40% on average. A long-life UV lamp has a maintenance interval of 2 years.
